Description

The LaserCOMPACT is an aspirating smoke detector that provides all the benefits of aspirating smoke detection, including very early warning, for small areas. The LaserCOMPACT has been designed to protect areas up to 500sq.m (5,000sq.ft). The detector operates by drawing air from a protected area via a pipe network. A sample of the air is filtered to remove dust and dirt before it is passed through the laser detection chamber. Smoke present in the detection chamber creates light scattering, which via sophisticated
electronics produces a signal representing the absolute level of smoke present. The LaserCOMPACT can be programmed to have 2 or 3 alarm thresholds, which can be set across its wide sensitivity range to provide both very early warning of a potential fire situation
and allow the initiation of further control procedures should the smoke level increase.
Specifically designed to provide all the benefits of aspirating smoke detection, including very early warning, in single environment medium areas and where space is a premium. The VLC combines the well-proven detection technology with a modified aspirator design, and incorporates them into a compact enclosure with a simplified display.

The Relays Only model is used as a single stand-alone smoke detecor and is not connected into VESDAnet. Programming this detector is by connecting to a PC with a RS232 communication cable to the 9-pin programming socket on the termination card located inside the detector.

The VESDAnet model is used when the detector is to connected into VESDAnet. This detector can be used as a stand-alone device and not connected into VESDAnet as well.

The VESDA VLC MX is a derivative of the standard Xtralis VESDA product family, with the primary difference being that it communicates directly on the Tyco MX loop and reports directly ot the MX controller.

The VESDA VLC Marine model is tested and certified for Marine Envrionments, and approved by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). It is ratedIP30 for location where higher IP protection is required. The VESDA VLC Marine aspirating smoke detector is available in two versions, one that interfaces via relays only (RO) and one that interfaces via relays and VESDAnet (VN).
