Description

The VESDA LaserCOMPACT (VESDAnet Version) is an aspirating smoke detector that provides all the benefites of aspirating smoke detection, including a very early warning, for small areas. The LaserCOMPACT has been desigend to protect ares up to 500sq.m (5,000sq.ft).
The detector operates by drawing air from a protected area via a pipe network. A sample of the air is filtered to remove dust and dirt before it is passed through the laser detection chamber. Smoke present in the detection chamber creates light scattering, which via sophisticated electronics produces a signal representing the absolute level of smoke present.
The LaserCOMPACT can be programmed to have 2 or 3 alarm thresholds, which can be set across its wide sensitivity range to provide both very early warning of a potential fire situation and allow the initiation of further control procedures should the smoke level increase.
The VESDAnet Version model of VESDA LaserCompact is used when the detector is to be connected into VESDAnet.
Communication to this detector is preformed by one of the following methods:
– Connecting a LCD Programmer to the 15-pin programming socket on the termination card
– Connecting a PC to the 15-pin programming socket via a PC-Link HLI device and running the VConfig Pro of VConfig Basic program from the PC
– To a VESDAnet socket from a remote Programmer or PC
